From Breakthrough to Brilliance: How the Rose Ladies Open Launched Two of Golf’s Rising Stars

The Rose Ladies Open has quickly become one of the most exciting launchpads for emerging talent in women’s golf, and the past two champions prove just how pivotal the event can be. In back-to-back years, Chiara Tamburlini (2023) and Helen Briem (2024) both used their Rose Ladies Open wins as the perfect springboard into stardom. What they’ve achieved since has been truly remarkable.

When Chiara Tamburlini lifted the trophy at the 2023 Rose Ladies Open, it was clear she had the potential to be something special. What followed in 2024, however, surpassed even the highest expectations.

In her first full season on the Ladies European Tour (LET), the Swiss standout recorded five tour victories, an astonishing feat for any player, let alone a rookie. These performances earned her not one, but three of the tour’s most prestigious accolades:

  • LET Order of Merit Winner
  • 2024 Rookie of the Year
  • Players’ Player of the Year, voted by her peers

Each win added another layer to her meteoric rise, and it all began with her confidence-boosting performance at the Rose Ladies Open. Her win in 2024 proved she could hold her nerve under pressure, and from there, she has simply never looked back.

Germany’s Helen Briem arrived at the 2024 Rose Ladies Open with a superb amateur record. A former winner of the European Young Masters and a key player on Team Europe at the Junior Solheim Cup, she had already notched three LET Access Series wins earlier in the season, all while still an amateur. In just her second professional start, she delivered under pressure, securing her maiden title in a dramatic three-hole playoff. A performance which showed her mental toughness, competitive edge, and maturity beyond her years.

Just two weeks later, she made her mark on the main Tour with a standout victory on the LET at La Sella in Spain, her first win at that level and a clear statement that she was ready to compete with the best. Her rapid rise didn’t go unnoticed, earning her the 2024 LET Rising Star Award and placing her among an elite group of young talents making waves on the professional stage

These back-to-back champions have gone on to win on the LET, receive accolades voted on by their peers, and dominate headlines across Europe. With the next edition of the Rose Ladies Open on the horizon, the question isn’t whether a new star will emerge, but who it will be.
