We are delighted to spotlight our magnificent venue, Brocket Hall, for the upcoming Rose Ladies Open from 6th to 8th September 2024. As we prepare to welcome you, we’re excited to share the unique features and sustainability initiatives that make Brocket Hall a standout location for this event.
A Historic and Prestigious Venue
Nestled in the heart of Hertfordshire, Brocket Hall is not only a venue of stunning natural beauty but also rich in history. Having hosted the Rose Ladies Open in 2022 and 2023, Brocket Hall continues to provide an exceptional backdrop for outstanding golf. Its lush landscapes and well-maintained courses offer an unforgettable experience for both players and spectators.
Experience Brocket Hall
Situated just 22 miles from central London, Brocket Hall is one of England’s finest stately homes. It features the renowned Auberge du Lac riverside restaurant, Grade 1 listed accommodation at Melbourne Lodge, and The Melbourne Club, which comprises two championship golf courses. Whether you’re here for golf, dining, or a luxurious stay, Brocket Hall offers a unique blend of history, luxury, and natural beauty.
Championship Courses
Brocket Hall boasts two renowned championship courses:
- The Melbourne Course: This beautiful course, offering a classic parkland layout that challenges and delights golfers of all skill levels, was designed by Clive Clark and the late Peter Alliss. Known for its strategically placed bunkers, mature trees, and picturesque views, it will again be the host of the Rose Ladies Open 2024!
- The Palmerston Course: Set within ancient woodland and featuring sweeping fairways and undulating greens, this course is the handiwork of course designers Donald Steel and Martin Ebert.
Commitment to Sustainability
We are proud to announce that Brocket Hall has recently received its GEO Certification in recognition of its commitment to sustainable golf practices. Together with Brocket Hall, our partners, and suppliers, we are working towards hosting a sustainable tournament for everyone to enjoy. Some of our key sustainability initiatives include:
- TREES for Birdies: For every birdie on the 13th hole during the tournament rounds, we will plant a tree at Brocket Hall.
- Water Refill Stations: Water refill stations will be available around the course for all players to use with their refillable water bottles.
- Bamboo Tees: Players will be given bamboo tees from our partners at GolfOne8 to use during the tournament.
- Sustainable Catering: Our catering units will offer local, sustainably sourced food, including vegan and vegetarian options.
- Responsible Waste Management: All waste collected at the open is sorted off site by a refuse company to minimize environmental impact.
- Wildlife Protection: Walkways, roping, and signs are designed to guide spectators and protect local wildlife and important habitats.
- Mains Electricity: All outlets and facilities will use mains electricity where possible.
Brocket Hall’s Year-Round Sustainability Efforts
Brocket Hall’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the tournament. The club actively manages woodland areas, introduces bird and bat boxes, installs sustainable fencing, and recycles waste. Additionally, the estate abstracts all its water through an onsite borehole, ensuring efficient water use for both estate and irrigation purposes.
